She was born at Los Angeles September 16, 1958, to an actress mother who was an actress, but was unsuccessful in her endeavors, and a father who sold cars. Jennifer was the youngest of her family's four children was often with her mom to performances in the theater and was awed by her. Jennifer's divorce occurred at the age of five. Jennifer lived the majority of her youth living in British Columbia when her mother relocated there with her four children. Jennifer was never the studious kind, even though it was true she had a talent for art in her youth. Her time at Canadian schools caused her to be the frequent target of bullies. When her enthusiasm for theatre was fading in high school she started playing in theatre together with her mom. The influence of her mother was to encourage all of the children in the family to develop a passion for and interest for arts. Then, she started to act.
